Memorial Day Weekend

First, I want to take the time to say thank to all of those who sacrificed their lives for us to have the freedoms we have today. Thank you to the families who love and supported these heroes and who carry that pain of losing a loved one. Because of those sacrifices, I was able to have one of the best weekends of my life with two of my most favorite people, so thank you.

This holiday weekend, was literally one of the best weekends ever. My husband and I got to spend 3 whole days with our little love bug Luca. We took him to the pool, to the park, we bought him toys, he saw his grandparents and got in plenty of “toon” time and snacks! I swear I fall more in love with this kiddo every single day. And I have to say, my husband too. He and I have had ups and a whole lot of downs. But, we have never given up and have always pushed through and asked how we could fix the problem. Without diving too deep into what issues we had, I realize how lucky I am that he was able to see and accept the problem and find a solution, rather than fight me on it.

My husband used to travel a lot for work, so we did not get to spend too much time together. Now that he’s home, he still works long hours, leaving at 630 and not getting home until almost 7. When he is home though, he asks what he can do to help me. What will make my tomorrow easier with Luca and work? It hasn’t always been this way. We fought for awhile about me not getting enough help from him, but the point is, he listened, he understood and he makes the effort to better our relationship everyday.

Having him home for three days with Luca was amazing. I really got to see and enjoy just how wonderful of a husband and a dad he is. Relationships are hard, marriages are hard, being a parent is suuuper hard, but having a partner who is your best friend and always on your side, makes it so much easier. Thank you babe for being you, even if you are the teeniest bit obnoxious sometimes- mostly when I’m trying to read. I love you.
